So I used to be a photographer, sorry amateur photographer, hobiest, whatever you want to call it...then I wasn’t, for a long time. There were a few reasons why, which I may tell you about in the future if I carry on doing this, but generally life got in the way and I put my camera down.
What did I take photographs of? Nature...anything and everything that took my eye in the natural world and most especially the smallest things, the insects that scurry around generally unnoticed in our busy lives, these are what fascinated me, and still do. When you look through the lens at such tiny creatures it’s like looking into a whole new world that no one else can see into, it’s just fascinating, thrilling, I’m not sure quite which adjective fits best but you get the picture. And then to get that shot, not just any in focus thing but the one that shows you something about the animal, well that’s just the icing on the the cake.
So why am I writing this blog? well recently I’ve started looking back over all the photographs I took and remembering what it all meant to me, the stories behind them, the memories and feelings which are as attached to each image as the image data stored within each file, and it’s made me want to make new memories and share old ones, so here it is my blog, a look back at my past adventures with my camera and hopefully some new ones....
